Last night I was at the gym jamming out to my most recent running playlist. I found a really good rhythm when Lady Gaga's Applause came on. Come on. Admit it. This song is just plain catchy. I bet your singing it right now.
Anywho....as I was jamming out I also had a thought. Not only is this a great song but in some ways Lady Gaga herself inspires a little awesome. Yes she's a bit crazy but no one can deny her confidence. I was picturing her awesome body and the confidence she exudes and it made me work a little harder on the machine.
What's your fav song on your current workout playlist? I'm always looking for new additions!
So far this week has been pretty fantastic. Saturday was of course the James Island Connector Run 10k and then Monday morning I began a new position at work. It's been fantastic!
Right now I'm working 7am to 4. This is the perfect shift. Get up, get ready, drink coffee on the way to work. Have breakfast at my first break around 9. Work. Lunch. Work. Off. Change into gym clothes before leaving work and head straight to the gym. Run/lift weights and home by 6! If this could happen every day I would be one happy camper. Unfortunately I won't be able to work 7-4 every day but quite often!
Next week I am being sent on a training trip with work to get my learn on. I'm being put up in a hotel and kinda looking forward to it! I plan on ending every day at the hotel's on site gym.
Gotta keep up this momentum to get ready to earn these babies in a just a few short months!!!
I have been the most slack person on the planet. I have run (after today) TWICE since my last 10k race. I have had some troubles...the main one being I severely hurt my shoulder/neck muscle and was out of the game for a bit.
I decided today was a good day to get a move on again...especially since Saturday is another 10k race! The James Island Connector Run. This race will be another beautiful race I'm sure because we run across yet another beautiful Charleston body of water.
The pictures are from my 5k run today at my local park. The park hosts a drive through Christmas lights program that begins November 8th. This 5k felt fantastic. And it was my fastest 5k in over a year. I was ready to be back and running.
Lauren and I will be tackling the James Island Connector run Saturday morning and I will post a recap shortly after. On Sunday I plan to go back to my county park and run as far as my body will let me. This will be a preparation run for Glass Slipper Challenge training!
Also next week I start my new job. I will be working 7am-4 a lot. I'm hoping this will also help me keep my training up. Off at 4am, change, head to gym immediately before collapsing!
I've decided to give this a whirl. I saw this on Pinterest a while back and Pam from We Run Disney completed one a while back so I thought...why not?
I did 20 seconds yesterday and was wobbling by 15 seconds. It seems ridiculous that 15 seconds of anything could make you wobble. I can't imagine being able to hold that for 5 minutes at this juncture but we shall see!
